Cavendish involved a tricky brief to provide two semi detached properties on a corner plot in Weybridge. The key schematics involved analysing how people would view the scheme and the idea was to create a building which looked like one grand house rather than two semi detached properties.
In order to benefit from a southern aspect, the gardens are flipped roadside and are sunk to create an intimate courtyard space. A new boundary brick wall creates a feeling of privacy and luxury. Building wings extrude to the site boundary to form a dramatic party wall line. Above a floating white box straddles the two homes topped with a glowing linit glass bonus room.
