LA CASITA
Shepperton | Surrey

Situated in Shepperton, Middlesex this new build detached riverside home sits alongside and responds directly to the waterway through both its interaction with its setting and architecture. The home has a sensitive and clear design rationale founded in the character of the neighbouring typologies with a clear horizontal emphasis to the proposal and wide low slung eaves offering protection from the elements. An elevated ground floor is set within a wraparound external plinth, establishing the notion of a pavilion architecture. The language of the building is derived from and is firmly rooted in the architecture of its place ensuring the home will be read as part of a coherent whole.

Internally, a sunken living area and open plan family living area all benefit from panoramic views over the river, whilst three bedrooms and bathrooms sit along an open plan spine of the home. Fundamentally, the home is all about taking in the distant vistas and appreciating the special setting afforded.
